The following is a list of what I believe are the most helpful (& harmful) foods & supplements for people with or recently recovered from cancer, based on everything I've read (the most important items are CAPITALIZED):

HELPFUL:

Beverages: freshly squeezed ASPARAGUS, green vegetable, carrot, celery, BEET, apple, grapefruit, lemon, & grape juices; green tea
Compare Juicers & Juicing.

Foods: organic, raw/steamed, locally-grown, vegetables (especially ASPARAGUS, leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage, squash, onion/leeks, celery, carrot, beet; fermented vegetables); fruit (esp. grape/raisins, berries, figs, lemon); grains (esp. brown rice & barley); mung bean; tempeh; sprouts; FLAXSEED OIL MIXED WITH COTTAGE CHEESE

Cancer-Healing Foods That Facilitate Weight Gain

WARNING: Several of theses items I would avoid unless I needed to gain weight, because they have excessive sugar and a very high glycemic index. Avoid consuming on an empty stomach (except for fruit and fresh-squeezed juice):

FRESH-SQUEEZED VEGETABLE & fruit JUICE (immediately fresh-pressed; NO bottled juice) — particularly fresh-pressed CARROT, BEET, ASPARAGUS[2], organic concord GRAPE, red grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, & apple juice
Perhaps even organic green drinks from frozen section of health food store.

sweet potatoes and yams
fruits-- papaya, kiwi, organic grapes/RAISINS, dried fruit, pineapple, and other tropical fruit
BROWN & WILD RICE
flaxseed oil mixed with low-fat cottage cheese or quark

I think the BEST AND SAFEST NON-ANIMAL PROTEIN SOURCES are green foods (algae, wheatgrass, barleygrass, alfalfa, etc.), leafy greens, tempeh (very absorbable form of protein), walnuts, almonds, mushrooms, and SPROUTS--particularly sprouted broccoli, garlic, onion, beans (particularly lentil & mung bean), and seeds (particularly sunflower).

“This article recommends avoiding omega-6 and saturated fat. Having been hurt by being taught to avoid things I needed to be healthy in the past, I would like to comment that omega-6 fat is essential to health and life for humans. I highly suggest to adjust this advice to suggest a range of intake, since none results in death.

There is good reason to believe that some saturated fat should be eaten as well, since terrible blood vessel damage has been seen from unbalanced unsaturated fatty acid intake. This damage was prevented by intake of saturated fat, which may also help in utilization of unsaturated fat.”
