Budwig diet and protocol: tips and frequently asked questions

Budwig Diet FAQ: expert answers to 138 frequently asked questions

Question 135: Can I dilute the quark/flaxseed oil mix with freshly pressed juices? My mother refuses to drink the required juices that I prepare from carrots, grapes, etc. I think she might accept them better if I mixed some - say - carrot juice in the already mixed quark/flaxseed oil.

Answer:

While Dr Budwig never mentioned "diluting" her basic mix into a "smoothie"-type drink, cases such as the above seem to call for flexibility. So by all means "disguise" the juice within the cottage cheese/flax oil mix and add whatever may make it more enticing to your loved one's taste buds, such a fresh fruit etc. (Also see How can one overcome a lack of appetite? and Dr. Budwig’s Treatment Advice for Very Ill Cancer Patients.)

Generally, try to "eat" a smoothie, i.e. don't gulp it down but make sure to mix it with saliva before swallowing. The importance of proper mastication (= pre-digestion) can hardly be overestimated (compare e.g. Dr. F.X. Mayr’s research into the link between dietary habits, thorough chewing, intestinal/digestive function and health & beauty). (credits: Healing Cancer Naturally and Lothar Hirneise)

Question 136: Can I use sodium bicarbonate (such as one or two teaspoons a day in a glass of water) with the Budwig protocol?

Answer:

The time-honoured standby bicarbonate of soda more recently has been popularized by Italian oncologist Dr. Tullio Simoncini (see Destroying Tumors with Baking Soda). While no reason springs to mind while taking small amounts of baking soda (as far apart from meals as possible) should interfere with the Budwig diet, this question likely could only be settled by Dr Budwig herself. Question 137: Do you have more information on the "cancerobes", the worm-like micro-organisms Dr. Budwig discovered in all blood samples from over 1000 cancer patients?

Answer:

While Dr. Budwig is likely to be referring to parasites of some sort, my impression is that Dr Budwig herself was unable to tell what type of "critters" they were. She simply noticed that when a person had cancer, they were detectable, and when that person was healed, they were gone, and when there was a relapse they reappeared.

A number of cancer researchers have discovered various organisms in the blood of cancer patients and given different explanations for them, for instance Russian chemist and author Tamara Lebedeva, French father of the somatid theory of cancer causation Gaston Naessens, as well as others. They typically also proposed ways to eliminate these organisms. (credits: Healing Cancer Naturally)

Question 138: Can I use frozen fruits and vegetables in the Budwig diet?

Answer:

The short answer is no since Dr Budwig never mentions the use of frozen fruit or vegetables in her cookbook. The one possible exception is discussed in the highly recommended new book Budwig Diet — How To Get It Right — The Ultimate Guide written by German Budwig scholars Michael Bierschenk and Ulla Schmid.
