Zeolites: a Natural Detoxifier
Offering Even More Hope
for Cancer Patients?

Thanks to the initiative of Paula Rothstein (of medicinefreeliving.com), a visitor of Healing Cancer Naturally, I
recently learned about zeolites (which are naturally occurring minerals, see glossary definition, but are also produced in a synthetic form). Zeolites have been used to clean up water contaminated with
radioactivity and similar pollutions and apparently, in a (naturally ;-) patented form dubbed Natural Cellular Defense (NCD), have also been successfully applied to chelate various environmental and other
toxins from the human body while additionally exerting a tumor-cell-killing effect. Preliminary research into NCD has found a very high success rate with a number of "terminal" cancer patients.
After perusing some of the material pertaining to this subject I feel that zeolites (or at least their "enhanced" and patented
commercialised form named Natural Cellular Defense) might possibly be beneficial or at least worth looking into for both cancer patients and those suffering from heavy metal and other internal pollution,
and this for the following reasons:
They are being endorsed by Dr. Gabriel Cousens, a holistic naturopathic MD who also endorses Dr. Johanna Budwig's powerful natural healing approach (see his article Light: Eating the wild electron). In fact Dr. Cousens has written a detailed article Zeolites Natural Cellular Defense cancer treatment: Product Review describing their background and various applications in both detoxification and cancer treatment. Additionally, Mike Adams, maker of
newstarget.com, an extensive non-commercial alternative health site, has penned a balanced discussion of zeolites, introducing them or rather "Natural Cellular Defense" as a possible major cancer
breakthrough (but requiring more research - see his article “Natural Cellular Defense and zeolite - is it the next big thing in nutritional therapies for cancer and chronic disease” published at
newstarget.com/015232.html). I feel I can trust both of these men’s integrity and judgment. So here is a concise
Introduction to Zeolites or Natural Cellular Defense (NCD)
Paula Rothstein kindly sent me the following information on zeolites and their patented commercialised form named Natural Cellular
Defense (NCD):
“[This] product is fairly new to the market. NCD was introduced in August of 2005 by the company of Waiora as a patented liquid zeolite
product capable of systemic detoxification in a manner substantially more efficient than any method previously made available. It also has the ability to activate the p21 tumor suppressor gene in cancerous
cells. NCD is considered 100% safe for all ages, providing a unique opportunity for all individuals to safely rid themselves of dangerous heavy metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium as well as
a variety of toxins found in the food we eat, air we breathe and water we drink. These elements are contributing to a number of chronic diseases affecting people today.
Zeolites are essentially negatively-charged minerals that have large, open channels within their molecular structure. This allows the zeolite to act as a cage that traps particles and compounds, isolating them
from the biochemistry of the organism and then safely excreting them from the body. Basically, one ingests a clean molecule and excretes a dirty one. There is no build-up of this product. Studies
have shown that [Natural Cellular Defense] is, in fact, completely eliminated from the body within a five to seven hour period. Approximately 60% of the product is excreted through urine and 40% through fecal matter.
Calcium and essential minerals are found to be too light to get trapped within the molecular structure of the zeolite*. As a result, there is no need for additional supplementation. In fact, studies have shown an enhanced
nutritional status after taking NCD.

‘The zeolites in Natural Cellular Defense, which are in a certain structure that is negatively charged, take in a tremendous amount of
positively charged heavy metals, pesticides, and herbicides. Therefore, these zeolites indirectly neutralize their effect in causing cancer. Then because of this interaction, the zeolites become slightly
positively charged and are attracted to the negatively charged membrane of the cancer cell, and are pulled right into the cancer cells. When the zeolite moves inside the cell, the P21 gene is
activated. P21 acts as a tumor suppressor through its ability to control cell cycle progression. The activation of P21 appears to halt the growth of tumors by directly suppressing growth signals.’

The present invention has resulted from the discovery that epithelial cell cancer can be treated by administering to a mammalian patient
having an epithelial cell cancer a therapeutically effective amount of 4,5 di-cyclo, disilico, dimagnesium, dialumino, oxyo, trihydrate acetate, sulfate, hydrochlorate, or bromate. The composition of the
present invention is synthesized from a naturally occurring non-toxic zeolites, and has a 100% kill rate within 72 hours against buccal mucosa and ling squamous epithelial cell cancers. It is not cytoxic
[cytotoxic = toxic to living cells] to healthy human cells.’

Zeolites

Any member of a family of hydrated aluminosilicate minerals that contain alkali and
alkaline-earth metals. The zeolites are noted for their lability toward ion-exchange and reversible dehydration. They have a framework structure that encloses
interconnected cavities occupied by large metal cations (positively charged ions) and water molecules.
The essential structural feature of a zeolite is a three-dimensional tetrahedral
framework in which each oxygen atom is shared by two tetrahedra. If all tetrahedra contained silicon the framework would be neutral; substitution of aluminum for silicon
creates a charge imbalance and requires other metal ions to be present in relatively large cavities of the framework. In naturally occurring zeolites these metal ions are
typically mono- or di-valent ions such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and barium. Zeolites are similar to feldspar minerals except that cavities are larger in
zeolites and water is generally present. Structurally, zeolites are classified by the types of structural units that compose the framework, such as rings or polyhedra
types. The cavities formed by the framework units have diameters ranging from about 2 to 8 angstroms, which permits relatively easy movement of ions between cavities.
This ease of movement of ions and water within the framework allows reversible dehydration and cation exchange, properties which vary considerably with chemical
and structural differences. Dehydration character varies with the way water is bound in the structure. For those zeolites in which water is tightly bound, dehydration occurs
at relatively high temperatures; by contrast, in certain zeolites with large cavities, some of the water can be released at low temperatures. The rate of ion exchange
depends on the size and connections between cavities. Some ions are excluded because of specific structural properties.
Zeolite properties are exploited through commercial production of zeolites with
particular structural and chemical features. Some commercial uses include separation of hydrocarbons, such as in petroleum refining; drying of gases and liquids; and pollution control by selective molecular adsorption.
Natural zeolites occur in basic volcanic rocks as cavity fillings, probably as a result of deposition by fluids or vapours. In sedimentary rocks zeolites occur as alteration
products of volcanic glass and serve as cementing material in detrital rocks; they also are found in chemical sedimentary rocks of marine origin. Extensive deposits of
zeolites occur in all oceans. Metamorphic rocks contain a sequence of zeolite minerals useful for assigning relative metamorphic grade; these minerals form at the expense of feldspars and volcanic glass.
