Welcome to this seventh page devoted to the discoveries of Dr. Johanna Budwig on the subject of healing cancer naturally! This page features articles addressing
the relationship of conventional medicine & doctors to the Budwig protocol.
We have very good house friends. The man (I’ll call him John) is a GP. He used to be our GP. Because of my involvement with cancer patients in particular and some other serious diseases, I have had many discussions with John regarding the Budwig protocol and the healing wonder of the 'miracle mix' (flaxoil/cottage cheese) as I call it. John used to give me a grin and often became very disinterested whenever I started talking about all the healing I have seen taking place over the past 20 months since I got involved. Five months ago, his wife (I’ll call her Jane)
became ill with a very rare connective tissue disease which affected her organs and joints. The only option she was given was chemo therapy to suppress the immune system. When John was faced with this choice to go ahead with the chemo therapy Jane reminded him (after having some lengthy discussions with me first), about the miracle mix I was always babbling about, and they came to see me, and only then did he really start to pay attention and listen to what I had to say. After all, prior to this, he was the doctor and I never had any formal medical training, so why should he listen to me? He read all the info I gave him regarding the Budwig protocol. Jane never went for chemotherapy but instead she is doing the Budwig protocol. Interesting, isn't it, and what does this tell you? John has to this day never answered my question why he didn't want Jane to do the chemotherapy. Maybe he knows that it will do her more harm than good and that it might not even make a difference. One thing is for sure - he didn't want her to have chemo. She is doing GREAT on the Budwig protocol.
I asked John to join a Budwig support forum and to write a testimonial to which he replied: "I don't have the time to join forums and discussions and I could lose my job you know, and after all, Jane is not completely cured yet." Needless to say, I am now looking for another GP. We are still friends, but I won't trust him with my own or my husband or my children's health again. He read about the health benefits of the miracle mix regarding heart problems, cholesterol problems, cancer etc. but he is not referring people to me, instead he is still writing prescriptions for statin drugs and sending his cancer patients to oncologists. This is soooooooo sad and totally disappointing which goes to show - it's all about money, isn't it? Compare On Conventional Cancer Treatment, On Cancer Business and On Drugs.
As previously mentioned (see Who was Dr. Johanna Budwig), Dr. Budwig and her work have been attacked and silenced by vested medical, industrial and pharmaceutical interests throughout her life (additionally compare History of cancer treatment for similar examples). But interestingly, “[o]ver 50% of Dr. Budwig's patients were doctors or relatives of doctors who knew why in such a serious disease they would rely on the experiences of this brilliant physicist, chemist and pharmacologist rather than follow the prevailing opinion which says that tumors must be destroyed through chemotherapy and radiation. (From the back cover of Dr. Budwig's last book: "Krebs - Das Problem und die Lösung" [Cancer - The Problem and The Solution]) A deplorable (and quite subjective) comment on the Budwig diet has been furnished by Dr. Andrew Weil, a well-known US doctor with an alternative bend. His
“case in point” serves to illustrate how many help-seeking people can be kept in ignorance by the words of “authorities” they so implicitly trust. Dr. Weil’s website carries an article on Dr. Budwig where he notes “All of this
sounds fanciful to me.” and concludes “I certainly would not rely on a combination of flaxseed oil and cottage cheese as a treatment for any form of cancer.” As various persons commented:
Dr. Budwig’s nephew Dr. Armin Grunewald, MD, writes: “It's not the results of the ‘bone scans’ or ‘CTs’ which are of crucial importance ... but whether the cancer can be gotten under control or not. While many of the test methods used by us physicians are certainly scientific, they say nothing about the patient's state of health.* Dr. Budwig's approach is not a method of healing cancer but a technique which strengthens the body's own immune defence against cancerous cells.” Compare “Modern Medicine Is Not A Science”. Dr Willner, M.D., Ph.D. writes in The Cancer Solution: "Numerous, independent clinical studies published in major medical journals world-wide confirm Dr. Budwig’s findings….Over 40 years ago Dr Budwig presented clear and convincing evidence, which has been confirmed by hundreds of other related scientific research papers since, that the essential fatty acids were at the core of the answer to the cancer problem…You will come to your own conclusions as to why this simple effective prevention and therapy has not only been ignored—it has been suppressed!" Cliff Beckwith, a 13 year prostate cancer survivor “thanks to flax oil and cottage cheese”, writes: ”For the most part one cannot expect
the doctors to place any real credibility to the use of flax oil/cottage cheese. It seems incredible that anything could be successful other than what they are taught in Med school. Imagine the blow to one's
ego if it became official that something with which he or she is not familiar would be found to be much better than the things that were studied 10 years to learn. ... Dr. Budwig to my knowledge had over
1000 documented successes. However, her work was not popular with the Oncology Industry in Europe. Her ideas would have meant a lot of losses in the Food Industry [too]; especially in the fats
industry. My cousin, Richard Beckwith, called her probably eleven years ago and talked to her about forty five minutes. She told him that American doctors had come to Germany and been impressed
with her work. Then they wanted to try to work out some way to have exclusive rights to her methods in the United States and make a lot of money and she wouldn't do that. She believed her work was
very important and was anxious to see it carried on but no one seemed interested unless they could make a lot of money. Compare Linseed and Fatty Acids: Johanna Budwig for more on Dr. Budwig’s encounters with other scientists.
